Grant Park Getaway

My favorite neighborhood in Atlanta has always been is Grant Park. It truly a gem filled with gorgeous craftsman-style bungalows, lush trees and one of the largest parks in the city tucked away in the middle of a bustling city. Now living in Atlanta for a second time, I hope to own a home in this neighborhood one day, so I was thrilled when I was contacted by a couple that recently made Grant Park home.

Spencer and Nas purchased a tall, gorgeous, craftsman house in 2021 and sought out BLB’s help in making it feel like home. The house had an incredible amount of natural light, high ceilings, large windows, and a black and white color palette throughout. Though new and beautiful, this blank canvas was in desperate need of some color, warmth, and a bit more character.

BEFORE:

As busy professionals that were working from home throughout the pandemic, Spencer and Nas wanted to give their living spaces some separation in the open floor plan home, while creating a mini-oasis and retreat in the bedroom (no TVs or laptops allowed!). They loved neutrals and mid-century modern pieces, and had already eyed a few furnishings at their local West Elm and Nadeau. Once we discussed their needs for each of the main floor spaces and their bedroom, I created mood boards for them to critique. After a few rounds, here’s where we landed!

MOOD BOARDS:

Over the next few months, we began purchasing the larger furniture pieces one at at time. Spencer and Nas went to local stores to view the sofa, dining table and chair options in person to assess their quality and comfort. Because these would be large purchases, we wanted to eliminate any potential buyer’s remorse and ensure they were confident about every dollar spent as they invested in their new home. We also hit up my friends at The Board Room Accent Walls to give one of the blank white walls downstairs some character. Once the larger in-stock and custom furniture pieces began to arrive, I began shopping for curtains, accessories and the final items to perfect each space before the couple began hosting friends and family in the fall. Nas and I even hit up our local Pike Nurseries to purchase new plants to celebrate their housewarming and fresh start in their new home. The new house plants really brought the space to life! Take a look…

AFTER:

Thank you, Spencer and Nas for inviting me into your home and lives as you start this new chapter in your beautiful abode! I thoroughly enjoyed helping you design each space and hope you enjoy them for years to come! Not to mention, you two are a pretty fun couple, so don’t be strangers and invite me over some time! LOL
